4. When dietary calcium intake is inadequate the blood pulls calcium from bones to maintain blood levels. The intestines bones and kidneys work together to maintain calcium levels and this is maintained by parathyroid hormone. The risk of developing gallstones increases.

The RDA for vitamin D is doubled in infants and children in areas where sunlight exposure is minimal. We cannot select this option for inadequate calcium intake.

5. Fortified milk, fatty fish and egg yolks are good food sources for vitamin D.

6. Iron regulation in the body includes a person with low iron status will absorb more iron than a person with adequate iron levels, increased levels of oxygen present (occurs when blood has adequate levels of haemoglobin/ iron) and adjustment in iron absorption based on the amount of iron consumed.

Adequate calcium to help absorb iron is a wrong statement because calcium inhibits iron absorption.
