1.The following measures can be taken to make her room safe

  • Maintain adequate ventilation in the room
  • Provide good lighting and night lamps in the night
  • Remove unnecessary articles out of the room
  • Maintain a clutter free room
  • Regular eye check up, and glasess as per order
  • Make sure the client has a alarm or call bell to get help in emergency
  • Teach proper walking technique with the walker

2.The following measures can be taken to prevent a fall

  • Encourage the patient to get up slowly ,steadily ,balance self with a walking aide and then walk
  • At the time when the call is expected the patient can probably sit near the phone to receive it
  • Provide a proper fitting shoes or slippers to prevent slipping
  • Remove any wires,tubes ,articles on the floor to prevent skidding and falling
  • Provide assistance
  • Encourage patient to call for help during walking

3.Ideally a patient can be restrained only when the patient is in a state to harm self or others,mentally ill,aggressive in nature.This patient can be given a talk therapy, make her understand ,provide her activities to sit and do her room.Strapping can be done if the patientis wandering to prevent disturbance to others
