Protein is one of the most needed supplements in the body. This can be achieved by a balanced normal diet, and also with protein shakes and bars. However such external sources of protein are usually consumed by athletes, bodybuilders, strongman athletes, etc. Proteins are a long chain of amino acid that when broken down by the human body provide an ample amount of energy in the form of ATP molecules and help in the development of the muscles. According to DRI i.e. dietary reference intake a person must consume 0.8grams of protein per kilogram of his/her weight. Thus being an important factor in repair and recovery of the muscles, proteins are companions that follow up the course of exercise. When an individual starts working out he/she basically tears the muscle which needs to be repaired for growing. Thus repair mechanism is assisted and boosted by the levels of protein in the body. If we consider an example of a bodybuilder, these people have a tremendously huge diet i.e. their protein intake would be higher than an average person as their workout regime demands such intake. These bodybuilders depend on protein shakes and bars for sufficient protein intake as their body over a period of time reaches a plateau and requires and an additional boost of protein.
