1.The similarities and differences of Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C infection are as following

  • Both are viral infection
  • The disease is chronic and cannot be cured
  • It is a blood borne infection (body fluids, needle stick injury, other to fetus,abusers)
  • The target organ affected is the liver

The difference between Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C

  • Hepatitis B can be even transmitted by the body fluid exposure (urine,saliva,sputum etc.,) Vaccihes are available to prevent infection
  • Hepatitis C is transmitted only when a infected blood comes in contact with another blood. No vaccination invented so far to cure this or prevent it.

3,The common blood borne infection that concern the healthcare specialists are

  • Human immunodeficiency virus
  • HCV(Hepatitis C virus)
  • HbsAg (Hepatitis B virus)
