• the nurse should use a small gauge needle of about a size of 22.
• she should use an arm board for restless patients.
• she should also use a minimal tape to avoid irritation to the skin.

• metronidazole can cause gastro-intestinal discomfort so advice patient to take with food.
• it can cause dark urination and tell the patient that it is normal.
• if it causes numbness of extremities then stop the medication and consult the physician.
