2.Ans: the steps for weighing a resident using a standing balance scale are:

  • Balance the bar in such a way that it hangs freely on the end.
  • Place a paper towel on the weighing platform.
  • Assist the patient to stand on the platform removing their shoes
  • Adjust the weights on the top bar until it hangs freely.
  • Move the weight on the second bar and add the weights if necessary and note down the weight of the patient.
