Direct Elisa method

In this method the antigens are detected.This is done by the addition of the enzyme called primary antibody .The serum will turn blue when the primary antibody is attached to the antigen

Indirect Elisa method

In this method two antibody are uses a primary antibody and a secondary antibody which is enzyme linked.The antigen binds to antibody and a two step process are involved to get the proper antigen.It is helpful to detect bacteria, fungi,viruses.

2.There are certain situations when the ELISA test that can be used in the medical field is to find out the antibody of certain dangerous, infectious diseases. Eg.,HIV,Lyme disease ,syphilis, Zika virus,etc.It can be used as a screening tool to identify the type of antibody present in the body.
