Intelligence has been stated to be a result of both nature and nurture. Based on evidence, it has been found that the genetic factors from bith the parents are responsible for the potential of intelligence in an individual, along with fluid intelligence. Nurture or the environmental factors are considered to shape this existing level of intelligence. This may be in a manner that is either favourable, unfavorable or stagnant. Moreover, it can also affect one's academic and work performance. The level of stress and mental stability also affects the same. Genetic disorders and intellectual disabilities are examples of interactions between nature and nurture. Intellectual disabilities can develop genetically or environmentally. Therefore, both nature and nurture plays a role in the development of intelligence.
