Annual performance appraisal is quite important for the employees to evaluate their performance in the year and help them progress in their career.
Manager preparation fro performance review:
i). Manager must be thorough with the job description of the employee.
ii). Regular feed backs to employees must be provide from time to time by conducting review meetings every fortnight, this helps manager note the employee performance from time to time.
iii). Managers in the review meetings will learn how to diagnose and check with the employee performance through out the year.
iv). Attaining feedback from superiors, etc on their diagnosis, etc.
v). Holding a discussion with employees help in resolving issues.
vi). Set KPI for employees and asking employees for feedback, etc.
Employee:
i). Gather information that is very basic like job description, performance measurement aspects, etc.
ii). Keeping track of feedback from the direct manager and other colleagues.
iii). Having a record of accomplishments in the project.
iv). Assessing and evaluating self so as to know where does one stand in attaining the job role.
v). Having a record where development and assistance is required.
All these elements make the manager speak to the employee with out any lack on feedback and motivates employee with genuine feedback that would help in progressive career.
