1) Leading strand is strand which is synthesized continuously in the 3 to 5 directions during the replication.

Lagging strand is the strand that is synthesized discontinuously and in short sections.

Lagging strand replication is more efficient because the polymerase that synthesizes the lagging strand is efficient as it does not come off from the strand from the short sections
