What is the difference between divergence, convergence, and creative middle ways?

Divergent and Convergent Thinking Divergent thinking - Thinking in different directions - Searching for a variety of answers to questions that may have many right answers - Brainstorming Convergent thinking Directed toward achieving a goal or single solution - Involves trying to find the one best answer - Emphasis shifts from idea generation to evaluation • A decision maker needs to be clear about which process they are using at the current time. 2 -8

Differences Between Them • Divergent thinking is the process of creating many unique solutions in order to solve a problem. • Convergent thinking, is the process of creating logical steps in order to determine what is the single best solution. • Wheneyer we use divergent thinking, we search for options instead of just choosing among predetermined options. Convergent thinking relies heavily on logic and less on creativity, while divergent thinking emphasizes creativity. • Divergent thinking works best in problems that are open-ended and allow for creativity. Convergent thinking works best in situations where a single best correct answer exists and it is possible to discover the answer through analyzing available stored informațion. For example, if someone asked you what 2 + 2 is, you know there is only one solution that works and that you can use your understanding of addition and numbers to find the best answer, which is 4.
Creative middle ways consists the properties of both divergence and convergence thinking ,I.e. it have have the features of both of creating new ideas and also emphasis on the traditional ideas to solve a problem.
