Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, PPACA, nicknamed as Obamacare, is a healthcare legislation that is enacted by the US government in order to improve the healthcare needs of the citizens of the country, The three main parts of this act are as follows:

1. to reform the private insurance market—especially for individuals and small-group purchasers.

2. to expand medical aid to the working poor with income up to 133% of the federal poverty level, and

3. to change the way that medical decisions are made in context of healthcare needs.
