DNA is the hereditary material in humans and almost all other organisms and almost every cell in an individual’s body has the same DNA. Our body is composed of many different types of cells. Cells of different organs are different from each other. Question is what makes them different from each other? The answer is lies in the way each cell deploys its own genome and also known as epigenetics. Epigenetics plays the key role in controlling the how much a gene gets read. Epigenetics leads some cells to read certain genes or combination of genes more, while others will read those same genes less. This difference dictates cellular morphology and function that give us the wide variety of cell types in our bodies – even though they all have the exact same DNA.

This is the one of the reason that prokaryotic transcription and translation can occur simultaneously in cytoplasm.
