The most important things that good managers do is to ensure that
all the activities of the departments are carried down in a smooth
way. Company's expect their managers to interview,hire and train
new employees. Manager's are also responsible for setting up long
term and short term goals in order to improve proper functioning of
the organization.
The characteristics which I think are important to be good manager
role are as follows -
1. Communication skills.
2. Reasoning skills
3. Emotional intelligence
4. Social genius
5. Time management skills
These characteristics matter for effective leaders because
depending upon these skills the manager can execute his roles and
responsibilities in the organization. Without having a lack of
communication skill a manager will not be able to communicate to
his subordinates. Similarly the lack of reasoning skills will make
the manager not able to take right decisions. Emotional
intelligence helps the manager in dealing with people and
motivating them emotionally. Social genius is concerned with making
the right talent work towards the organization goals. Time
management skills helps the manager in effectively handling
different task in the organization.
