Biome type - wetland biome

Dominant types of vegetation - Grasses (paddy)

Dominant types of animal species - Reptiles (snakes, turtles) and amphibians (frogs).

The wetland consists of paddy fields, riverine flood plain, lakes, and coastal swamps. My area is sorrounded by paddy fields. This tropical biome supports rich flora and fauna with specialized vegetation cover that serve as the breeding grounds of many migratory birds.

Oryza sativa is the major plant species that observed in fields. Storks, egret, Indian pond herons, small bee eater, black drongo, common mayna, Indian roller, and common sand piper are the main birds found in big number in paddy field.

Nowadays, this unique habitats are transformed for various man made activities and thus many species of flora and fauna became extinct from the native region. Human activities cause the extinction of many animals and plants from paddy fields. Lot of native fishes, frogs, and birds were exincted due to predation and the use of chemical fertilizers.
