I am most affected by the social error/bias "One of Us /One of them how can I overcome it
How to overcome the social error/biases:
TRY TO KNOW MORE ABOUT SUCH REFERENCE GROUPS: One can increase his contacts with the relevant group, which would help him to understand those social groups better.
It would help collect the relevant information regarding all the related aspects, which would help reduce and undermine the biases.
2. BE COMPASSIONATE: A person would need to empathize with others to make sure that they are capable of doing the work we are providing to them.
3. BECOME BLIND:
To avoid any social bias is based on any demographic information or any other such information, which is not a matter of expertise and talent; a person should become blind towards that and should try not to have a look at it before making a decision.
4. REMAIN CONSCIOUS: One should remain conscious and careful and observant towards their choices and evaluate their behavior regarding whether there was bias in their choices.
5. COUNTERING STEREOTYPES: There is also a need to counter the stereotypes and try to gain knowledge regarding them to make sure you don't make such social errors unconsciously.
