Answer #1

Answer- The mRNA sequence will be changed from the point of mutation. Since this mutation will cause a shift in the reading frame, thus changing most of the codonsin the later sequence.

The original reading frame can be restored by adding a single base pair at the site of mutation in the previous part of the question. For eg:

Original DNA template :-

3'-ACCTACGGGCACTCC-5'

After mutation:-

3'-ACCTACGGGACTCC-5'

mRNA Sequence:-

5'-UGGAUGCCCUGAGG-3'

Therefore, codon sequence will get

5'-Met-Pro-stop-3'

After correction:-

DNA template strand( after addition of single base pair)

3'-ACCTACGGGAACTCC-5'

mRNA sequence:-

5'-TGGAUGCCCUUGAGG-3'

codon sequence:-

5'-Met-Pro-Leu-Arg-3'
