EXPLANATION :
Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs:
It is a motivational theory in psychology, which is formed of a five stage system. They are arranged in the form of pyramid.
From lowest to highest:-
a) Physiological needs - It is the basic biological requirements for survival. Eg:-air, food, water
b) Safety needs- These needs are usually fulfilled by family and society. Eg:-Financial security, medical care, law and order.
c) Belongingness and love needs - It is the need for feeling of belongingness and good interpersonal relationships. Eg:-friendship, intimacy, love
d) Esteem needs-It includes 2 categories.
i) esteem for onself(dignity, independence achievement, mastery)
ii) need for respect or reputation
e) Self actualisation - The highest level of Maslow's hierarchy. It includes the realisation of a person's potential,seeking personal growth, self fulfillment and peak experiences. If this level is accomplished, then a person can do his best.
10.Neuroticism is one of the important personlity trait. It is referred as one's tendency towards negative feelings like depression, anxiety, self doubt. Neurotic people have more depressed moods.They can be highly sensitive to environmental stress,more frustrated than others.
It is actually a trait which describes how we deal with stress.
According to various psychologists, neuroticism has both good side and bad sides.
