For this final requirement you are going to focus on interpersonal conflict management strategies.
1) Conflict management skills :-
As it is very difficult to mitigate conflicts totally, there are some skills by which management as well as employees can avoid conflicts.
a) Communication skills :-
Conflicts can be avoided with he help of simply communicating with coworkers effectively. It is one of the easiest conflict management tool which can be used by verbally or written. By communicating effectively, an employee can express his opinion and can avoid many unnecessary conflicts. Also, listening is really important while implementing this skill.
b) Emotional intelligence :-
It can be said that implementing emotional intelligence is quite difficult in an organization. Emotional intelligence is when a person has to understand his/her own feelings and also needs to understand other person's feelings and later managing those two efficiently. Some people who identify their EI, can better manage surroundings than compared to those people who cannot. Employees may not always tends to modify their behavior and thus it become challenging to implement.
c) Empathy :-
Sometimes it's easier to solve a conflict by understanding the other person and their feelings. This optimistic skills leads to understand other's view point which can mitigate many negative consequences such as misunderstanding. Empathy can be developed overtime so management as well as employees can implement this effective skill to avoid conflict in the organization.
d) Creative problem solving :-
One of the challenging is when employees in a negative workplace tries to find solutions for problem as those solutions won't come to their mind. Also, not many employees would take initiative to solve the ongoing problem in the workplace. No doubt it is an effective skill but it is quite difficult to implement it in workplace. Employers can gather employees for brainstorming to boost up their solving ability.
