I have been involved in organizational restructuring in my past company. I, basically played the part of determining skill sets of individual employees and preparing detailed job profiles as per current company structure and requirement. The intervention lasted for a year and the major change was shifting structure from functional based to silo based, I.e. customer oriented teams were formed to cater to customers specific needs.

As a leader of the intervention, I had to measure the overall effectiveness of the project. This was measured through customer feedback. Customers began to appreciate the change as they could have single-point contact who would be responsible for their projects. Thus response time improved. Accountability increased. Resulting in improved customer satisfaction.

However, if the intervention was not delivering planned results, then I would have to relook at the processes and redesign the structure. this would continue till success is achieved.
