Answer #1

Relability of a component is the probability that it will fulfill the desired requirement or perform its job under the given conditions.

Now the systems are classified as repairable and non repairable systems.

Repairable systems are those the components of which can be repaired or replaced when failure occurs. e.g . Automobiles , computers etc.

Whereas non-repairable systems are the ones which cant be repaired or replaced under failure or it is not econimical to do so. e.g. household products like light bulb, microwave oven or heaing element in a heater etc.

For repairable systems we talk about availibility ie. percentage of time when component is able to do its job ,whereas for non-repairable systems reliability is used.reliability analysis of bith types of systems are done by different methods like Mean Commulative Function(MCF) is used for repairable systems and Weibull is used for non-reparable systems .
