pharmacologic action of buspirone - act as a partial agonist at 5HT1a receptor. uses of buspirone - for treating anxiety disorder like genderalized anxiety disorder., sexual dysfunction , benzodiazepine withdrawal managment , alchohol withdrawal managment compilcations are dizziness , headache , nausea, nervousness , paresthesia
routes of adminstration- taken by oral route and take upto 4 wks for effects . nursing interventions while giving buspirone- avoid in hypersensitivity patients , cautious while using liver or renal problem patient , use in pregnancy, started with low dose and take 2- 3 days for responce drug interactions are with MAO inhibiters , SSRI , Warfarin , phenytoin ,carbamazepin
evaluation of medical effectivness using hamiltone anxiety and psychic factor score , patient education while using buspirone -do not drive , do not operate dangerous machinery ,do not participiate in risky actvities.avoid drinking alchohol with the medicine , avoid grapefruit juice with buspirone. take medicine dailyt same time . avoid overdsosage if forget to take one dose , report any side effects , no immediate action will occur and take time .. donot change dose without consulting doctor . use same brand of medicines
