Cirrhosis of the liver, emphysema, and heart disease are all conditions that can be caused by a faulty gene, or by a dangerous lifestyle habit (drinking alcohol, smoking, following a poor diet). When gene therapies become available for these conditions, should people with gene-caused disease be given priority in receiving the treatments? If not, what other criteria should be used for deciding who should receive a limited medical resource?

ya ok as the background says that most of the mentioned diseased caused by a failty diseas as well as by a dangerous life style. Off course but the priority for the tramtment based on background of disease/ may be impractical however we can favoured those are because of gene havinf disease and they do not have doen fault. coming to life style as it can be controled and it is totally failure of the person who could have saved from such dissea by its own. this points surely says that the first categories people shoul;d be given priority for treatment.

the other base to provide the treatment could be severity of disease. the best way would be to develop more resources and a stratigy to encounter the disease due to gene as well as life style.
