In your words please.
Media and technology are emerging day by day. It has seen a growth in last 10 years. Earlier people are not much dependent on either media or technology. Now, the usage of both has increased tremendously. There are many positive and negatives associated with them. These are:
Positives of media and technology:
1. We can get immediate access to information. Anything which has happened in any remote area could also be accessible due to media and technology. It helps us to remain update about what is happening around us. Also, it helps in increasing the knowledge with providing huge amount of information through the various search engines, blogs, websites, etc. The technology also helps us to connect to people living anywhere in the world through social networking sites, video conference, voice conferencing, etc. This saves a lot of time our time.
2. In the healthcare industry, due to advancement in technology we have new machines or equipments. This has helped to increase the healthcare services in a good way. More efficient and less time consuming treatments are provided nowadays. Due to development in media and technology, one health care provider in one country can communicate with other physician present in other country, to help a patient.
3. It becomes easier to do something remarkable and noticeable, and have it reach people across the planet, than it has been at any time in our history. We now have truly globalized voices. Whether we write a research paper, or a poem or a song, we can easily pass it on to all the other parts of the world.
3. The use of media and technology in the classroom can help bridge the distance between instructor and students. This makes the learning more fun and student will be able to understand it.
Negatives of media and technology:
1. Technologies have made everyone busier than productive. Earlier, people have time for friends and families. They live and enjoy their life. They were emotional, caring and have values of humanity but today we do same things on social media but without emotions. This is the technological effect. And we’re responsible for this change. Whether it is good or bad, depends on the users, how they’re using it.
2. Today we have more health care technologies then past. But the reason, behind the inventions of health technologies, is the overuse of technology in daily life.
3. Our critical thinking skills are completely gone. Now we have social networking site or search engines if we want to do something. We don't need to spend time thinking about a topic and reading books to gather information. This has decreased the mental level in the students.
