The source and sink relation explans the food material preparation and consumption.

In plants the green materials such as leaf which can perform photosynthesis these are reffered as sources. With the help of photosynthesis the leafs prepare food materials. These are called photosynthesis. This is also reffered as loading.

The synthesized materials transloctes through phloem to roots etc.

As the roots consume the sysnthesized food material, those are reffered as sinks. This is also reffered as unloading.
