I as a medical student would hand over two equipments to my instructor to measure the blood pressure: stethoscope and sphygmomanometer.

Sphygmomanometer has an inflatable cuff attached to a pump which is used to raise the arterial pressure on which the cuff is generally worn. It is generally worn on an arm. The arterial pressure is raised slowly with the mercury rising in the pressure meter or manometer attached and a stethescope is kept worn by the doctor is kept on the heart of the patient to hear the sound of the blood thag flows through the artery. thus the blood pressure of the patient is measure in mmhg.

Normal blood pressure is 120/180 i.e systolic by diastolic pressure.
