17. The following conclusions are provided as follows

a. The substrates are A and B, and enzyme is E. As we know the work of the enzyme is to bind with the substrate and find an alternate route for the reaction to proceed such that the rate is speeded and the efficiency is more. This enzyme substrate complex is EAB and it can also be termed as catalytic complex.

b.The chemistry event which occurs during catalysis is the alternative reaction pathway which the catalyst uptakes. The reason behind uptaking this pathway is to increase the rate of the reaction. However, apart from this basic mechanism there is another event which occurs, This is known as the double displacement reaction or the ping pong reaction.

c.The reaction which occurs is a ping pong reaction because there is presence of two substrates A and B. Once the first substrate comes and bind to the enzyme and forms a complex, the first product say P is released from it. Next when substrate B comes and bind with the enzyme, the next product say F is released from it. Therefore, this shows how double displacement reaction occurs.

d.There is no leading substrate in the reaction. Substrate A and substrate B work work with same affinity for the enzyme.

e.The Cleland notation gives details about the ping pong reaction. In this case after the second substrate comes and binds with the enzyme, the product F is released from it. Therefore, product F is generated in the catalytic cycle.
