ans. development of non invasive techniques to allow the measurement of brain activity is imperative to reveal human brain functions.some methods for non invasive techniques are ;

-functional resonance imaging (fmri)

-near infrared spectroscopy(nirs)

-magnetoencephalography(MEG)

-electroencelography.(EEG)

PROBLEMS WITH THESE INDIRECT METHODS ARE:

FMRI:

advantages-excellent resolution,non invasive

disadvantages-expesive,limited to activation studies

MRS:

advantages:non invansive,metabolic activities

problem:expensive ,low resolution

EEG:

advantages:low cost,excellent temporal resolution

PROBLEMS:

poor spatial resolution

MEG:

advantages:high temporal resolution and good spatial resolution

problem:very expensive ,limited resolution for deep structures

AND SOME OF THE COMMON PROBLEMS WITH NON INVANSIVE METHODS ARE

limited spatial resolution

lack of standralised method for false segmentation

ethical consequences of false daigonosis could be serious.
