A theory is a comprehensive set of ideas explaining a phenomenon in nature is correct answer why because theories are supported by evidence based.

People use the term theory to mean a hunch but scientists can't use this word in this way.That's why option ''A'' is not correct.

Laws define relationships but they don't explain them that's why option ''B'' is not correct.

So option ''D '' is the correct answer.
