Answer #1

Answer 6) Option B – The stress response may deplete our bodies of certain vitamins.

During stressful situations, our bodies get depleted of the important micronutrients and vitamins such as vitamin C, vitamin E and the B vitamins. All these vitamins act as essential metabolic cofactors, they help in fighting inflammation and neutralizing the free radicals. Stress may damage these vitamins or even reduce the absorption of these nutrients in the system.

Answer 7) True

During cognitive appraisal, an individual evaluates and compares the impact of a stressful event and its importance for his/her well-being.

Answer 8) True

Salt helps in water retention in the body. If an excess of table salt is consumed, body tends to store extra water to balance the salt content and raises the blood pressure. Greater is the blood pressure, higher is the strain on heart, arteries and kidneys. This may lead to disorders such as strokes, kidney disorders and heart attack.

Answer 9) True

Roadblocks are a type of intervention that can be placed at various positions on the stress theory model. Since this model relies on sequential phases where every phase is dependent on the successful completion of the previous phase, any roadblock (intervention) set up at any point may cause a stressful situation.

Answer 10) False
