In the ara operon could Arabinose be metabolized if the Transcription Factor was mutated so it could not bind to the Inducer? In other words, if the Inducer couldn’t bind to the ara Transcription Factor would Arabinose still get broken down? Would you get a different answer depending on whether or not there was Arabinose present in the cell? Give a molecular explanation.

Inducer that is arabinose play the main role it binds to regulator araC and chances it shape that facilitates attachement of RNA polymerase to DNA

Case 1) mutation in transcription factor will automatically halt transcription hence no enzyme to metabolism arabinose doesnt matter arabinose is present or not.

Case 2) if arabinose is not present but transcription machinery is all good than also transcription is out of question because operon will be in negative control by regulator and until inducer (arabinose) is present. It will not lead to positive control of operon.
