The above species is a spore former because there are two stains staining the endospre and the vegetative cell.Schaeffer-Fulton method can be used to distinguish spore and non spore forming bacteria which uses Malachite green which will stain the endospore green. As we know that endospore is hard and impervious to reagents therefore it is either given heat treatment or detergent treatment and then only it can enterthe spore. Then it is treated with alcohol which will remove the stain from the vegetative cells and then the vegetative cells are counterstained with saffranin and stained pink.

The spore formation can also be detected by carbofuschin reagent which uses similar mechanism here endospore are stained red and the vegetative cell are stained with methylene blue and stained blue.
