  • There are different types of poision which woks in different ways. Thr poision is taken into the body and then absorbed then it interferes with the physiological processes. Thye poision can interfere at the cellular level and the molecular level also. It mainly acts by interfering with the receptor ligand binding, interfering with the membrane function, interfering with the cellular energy production, binding to biomolecules and disfunctioning the homeostasis of the body.
  • Cyanide primarily inhibits the cytochrome oxidase of the mitochondia so the cell can not produce atp at that time. then it has a very short half life so that it works s and disappears very fast. it also forms thiyocyanide which has a half life more than 24 hous so that it is eliminated through the kidney by toxifying .
  • Dnp usually act by interfering with the oxidative phosphorylation of the mityochondria. so the body cant store energy in the form of atp as the uncoupling of the electron transport chain causes the h plus gradient dysruption and the energy production is hampered in the chemiosmosis proccess. so that the body generates a additional mechanism by which the calcium release happens in the sarco plasmic reticulum and the metabolic rate is increased to adapt to the loss of energy. so that it was used for the wieght loss. Then it was banned.
  • It also interferes with the atp sysynthesis process in the mitochondria. It usually inhibit the atp synthase and found to be inducing inflammatory response.
  • All the 3 category work in the same way interfering the atp synthesis process but they use different mechanism to do so which were explained above.
