1) During the entry of virushe M2 proteins unfolds the HA protein and thus ion channel M2 inhibits the growth of virus. It is activated in low pH system. It is effective only against influenza A. As Influenza A can be generally transfered tosuspicious contacts and is incorporated into the host immune system and thus compromising the host. Ultimately, the use M2 proteins in treatment is less potenial in curing the disease.

However, N inhibitors interacts with th virus and prevents its multiplication and infection to new host cells, thus protects the respiratory system.  

In comparison  to the M2 proteins, the neuraminidase inhibitors are less toxicand are less drug resistant. The N inhibitors are effective againt all strains of H1N1 as compare to M2 proteins.
