Here, the process occuring in the cell is initiation of transcription. This is so, because here, T is base pairing with A, C is base pairing with G, G is base pairing with C and A is base pairing with U. As we know, in RNA the uracil (U) is found at the place of thymine (T). So, it is clear from the above discussion that RNA is being produced in the given process.

Hence, option (B) i.e. initiation of transcription is occurring because a strand of RNA is being produced from a DNA template strand , is the correct answer for this question.

Option (A) is incorrect because the process is going on in only one strand of the DNA, while DNA replication takes place on both the strands.

Option (C) is incorrect because here RNA is being produced from a DNA template strand, while in translation , peptide chains are produced from the mRNA.

Option (D) is incorrect because in splicing, introns are removed from the mRNA produced as a result of translation. But here,no splicing is being done.

Hence, option (B) is the correct answer for this question.
