Ans) Role conflict takes place when there is a clash between two or more person’s roles or incompatible features within the same role. Role conflict can be categorized as: intrarole conflict which refers to incompatible requirements within the same role, and secondly interrole conflict, which refers to clashing expectations from separate roles within the same person.

Rao V.S.P in his books states that, inter role conflict takes place due to facing of multiple roles. He believes it basically happens because indivalus perform simultaneous roles and such roles conflict against each other. He tries to explain the difficulties that a teacher may face while evaluating a students performance, since they may not be able to fulfill the demands of other roles at the same time.
