According to Epicurus, what incentive or motive do people have to obey the laws and behave justly toward one another? Do you agree with Epicurus on this issue? Why or why not?
Epicurus believed that laws were useful and just and had their place in every civil society. He considered laws to be instrumental in developing a society that lead to the happiness of the different beings that were associated with the society. He however also had some concerns with the idea of justice. He considered natural justice not to be debatable as he felt that it did not cause harm to anyone of the stakeholders that were involved. But, he also advised that it was necessary that individuals do not let anyone else cause pain or harm to them in a civil society. I agree with the views of Epicurus, even though some of the views might not have stood the test of time. That is essentially because of the part where he treats the natural justice in a separate manner from other forms of justice.

To state it another way, if it increases the Company's cost but does not increase profits, why should a company behave in a socially responsible manner? Laws and...

EXERCISE 1-11 Intrinsic Motivation and Extrinsic Incentives In a Harvard Business Review article titled "Why Incentive Plans Cannot Work." When it comes to producing lasting change in attitudes and behavior, however, rewards, like punishment, are strikingly ineffective. Once the rewards run out, people revert to their old behaviors... . Incentives, a version of what psychologists call extrinsic...
