Starting a new accounting software for the any company would require the information as how much data it has to handle, size of the operations, client base, accounting procedures, norms accepted information, languages to be used, in which countries in need to be operated etc. Here globalization affects this very idea in many ways. To discuss with, we'll begin with the culture first. We have two very popular Accounting procedures namely IFRS and US GAAP. But this may or may not be culturally developed or even introduced in other countries where the accounting software has to consider this as a fact and has to be decided based upon the company's management decision on which accounting norm to follow. Politically, US software sometimes may not be accepted by Chinese for instance due to language as a barrier, or they want to build their own software and do not want to entertain any other country's software as an interface. This needs to be addressed while developing accounting software. Linguistic issues appear as a challenge when the information edited by or read by is different people and the software should be accessible to people with different natives in case of a company which is operating in different countries. Flexibility in such should be encouraged while developing a new accounting software which enhances the efficiency of the operations of a company.
