Answers:

A. A settlement pattern is defined as how a human settlement is shaped and it is measured by the spatial relationship between human activities and the surrounding landscape.

B. Settlement patterns are preserved in the archeological remnants of ancient city networks.

C. A dispersed settlement pattern indicates that buildings are spread out over a large area generally in upland region whereas a nucleated settlement pattern indicates that buildings are clustered over an area generally in lowland region while linear settlement pattern indicates building are build in a single line along steep hills. Thus, from the type of pattern all the information about buildings and landscape areas can be interpreted.
