1. Sketch a circuit configuration using a MOSFET acting as a switch.

2. Design Challenge

a) One common application of FETs is to use them as a switch. Use the circuit you completed above in (question 1) to create a switch with a MOSFET which can turn on and off the LED on your component board. This could be used with a micro controller to drive the LED. Sketch your circuit below, and briefly discuss your design and how it works to operate as a switch. In what conditions will the switch be on, or off?

b) Extend the circuit designed from (a) to implement a NAND gate. Sketch the circuit and briefly discuss.

Pre-lab: Design and implement on the NEXYS board the following FSM circuit. There is one input called direction. If direction 1, the FSM will make the segments in one 7-segment display (will be referred to as the most significant digit, MSD) move in a clockwise direction around in a circle (i.e., turn on and off the segments in this order: segment a, b, c, d, e, f, a, b,...) and the segments in a neighboring 7-segment display (LSD) move in...
