• Describe the various levels of nucleic acid structure in Eukaryotic chromosomes at the molecular level
The DNA is linear when replicated and further packaging occurs in the nucleus by various modifications of the linear DNA. The strands form beta helix structure and DNA then wraps around the histone proteins H2A, H2B, H3 and H4 which are present two each, Therefore around 8 histone proteins DNA binds and this structure is known as the nucleosome and this structure is sealed by H1. Then these nucleosome structures forms loops and becomes more compact and forms the chromosome structure as shown in the figure. In this form the DNA becomes chromosome in the eukaryotic cells.

Nucleic Acids List the two types of nucleic acid polymers. Describe how information flows from DNA >> RNA >> proteins List the 3 major components of a nucleotide. Describe how these monomers are linked to form a nucleic acid. Distinguish between DNA and RNA. Briefly describe the three-dimensional structure of DNA.

1. Describe the structure of the DNA molecule and how this structure allows for the storage of information, the replication of DNA, and protein synthesis. • What is the double helix? What are nucleotides, polynucleotide and base pairs? Use these terms to explain the structure of DNA. 2. List the similarities and differences between the various nucleic acid molecules. • What is semi-conservative replication of DNA? How does DNA get replicated?

1. (a) The structure shown below is a nucleic acid. Decide whether it's a DNA or an RNA, and explain your answer. Clearly indicate on the diagram where you looked to decide.
Question 2 5 pts Which statements describe the DNA of eukaryotic cells? Select all that apply. Hint: DNA Packaging e video Genome and Ploidy video Textbook chapter 10 section 10.1 Nuclear chromosomes are linear molecules. All of the DNA is located inside the nucleus. Chromosomes contain molecules of DNA and protein The structure located between the two chromosome arms is known as a telomere.
