A. One that has two copies of each chromosome – one from mom and one from dad

  • Diploid cells have 2 sets of chromosome - one set from each parent . For example the diploid human cells have 23 pairs (or 46 chromosome) - 23 from mother and 23 from father. Diploid cell produce haploid cells during gamete formation (like sperm or egg) be Meiosis. Haploid have only one set of chromosome. For example sperm or egg are hsloid and they have 23 chromosome.
  • A cell that carries one less X chromosome is called as monotony of X.
