Domestic violence is a social problem which has been affecting various third world countries , along with developed countries. It is a social problem as it can affect the Individual, family and the society. The possibility causes, both nationally and globally are broad. It could be due to psychological disorders, displacement, lack of education, sadism, and poor awareness regarding the helplines. On an individual or micro level, it is important to be aware about what is to be done in the case of domestic violence and how to ensure that the abuser can be referred to the authorities. On a macro level, strengthening the existing laws and improving awareness, facilities in schools and workplace and counselling must be strengthened.
