Overcoming the fear of public speaking is a topic in which most, if not all, of your audience will appreciate. Any ideas you can offer to them will be well received. You might begin by telling them that voice and clarity are important. One way to achieve clarity is to emphasize the last sound of each word. It may sound odd at first but not to the audience. It will sound very polished.
This cannot be stressed enough….pause! No more than six (6) words…at a time…without a pause. Even less….than six….will be effective. All great speakers….pause. Use a full voice. Think of great speakers….Paul Harvey, Kennedy, Reagan, Clinton, Obama….all utilized a full voice….and paused.

2. You could talk about how to handle business meetings. Talk about when to have them and how often to meet. Talk about what should be included and what should be left out.
The best business meetings I had were at a place that had a bi-weekly forum called “Tech Talk” in a phone conference format. Even then, there were some inappropriate things that came up and were discussed by upper management. This was for those of us who did in home service calls and installations. The worst was at a place that was a district headquarters and also a furniture store. In that one, the district manager would often pick out individual sales people to attack in the meeting and say any horrible thing about the person that he could. Sales people regularly walked out of those weekly meetings in tears, both for themselves and their co-workers. It was cringeworthy to say the least.
In Tech Talk forum, the one that stands out was the time when a company vice president who was not normally part of these discussions took over the forum leadership for a week when the other was on vacation. He said, “Be safe out there, folks.” So far, so good, right? Then he went on, “Because one day last week, one of our audio visual guys was out doing a repair on a system and a huge television set fell off of a high shelf and broke on his head. Then it nicked his jugular vein and he started spewing spurts of blood. Since it knocked him half silly when it hit him in the head, and he was disoriented, he started to run through their house screaming with blood spurting out of his neck. They had light beige carpet everywhere and white furniture. Finally the paramedics tackled him. He’s going to be OK. We’re being sued.” and then cheerily said, “So, be safe out there, OK?
