Project Quality management is a critical aspect in meeting the desired requirements of the customers or stakeholders. To achieve good quality of the project, the requirements should be clear and according to the customers expectations.
The important key concept to deliver high quality project is Customer Satisfaction. Without customer satisfaction there can be no quality. Even if a deliverable meets all aspects of what the customer or stakeholder has required but is done so where the process itself was not to satisfactory, then there’s a problem. The deliverables must meet with agreed upon requirements or else the project has failed because the product of the project and the management of the project didn’t meet with the expectations of the customer or stakeholder. Thus, in order to avoid issues arising later meet with the customer or stakeholder regularly discuss about the project progress and get their feedback and need to be transparent with the customer. Proper quality management will ensure that the final deliverable meets all the customer requirements and attain their satisfaction. Higher customer satisfaction rates will result in higher revenues, which in turn will set the product apart from its competitors. Customer satisfaction eventually leads to customer loyalty. It is important for every business to have some loyal customers. You need to have some customers who would come back to your organization no matter what. Customers would return to your organization only if they are satisfied with your products and services. Make sure the end-user is happy with the product.
Quality can also be improved by continuously monitoring and improving the product by resolving the issues present in it. It is an ongoing process. The improvements can be small, incremental changes or major changes. Various organizations also implementing Total Quality Management practices which help in identifying the major areas of improvement. Consistent and systematic implementation of TQM results in lower cost expenses and higher profit returns
If there are any issues / mistakes in the project prevent them before in order to avoid those issues at a later stage because the cost of preventing the mistakes is much less than the cost of correcting them.
With good quality management, the probability of cutting corners also reduces. Thus, the risks of product failure reduce drastically which saves your organization from long term financial losses.
Since the quality of all the tasks and activities is constantly monitored by project quality management processes, tools and techniques and their quality factor is more emphasized, the ad hoc tasks that arise due to warranty claims are bound to reduce by a huge number. This helps in delivering the product on time with optimum quality.
Quality management doesn’t just ensure the quality of a product. It also ensures that the project team follows clear communication structures, tasks across all departments and responsibilities. This boosts up employee morale, resulting in enhanced performance and efficiency of the employee to deliver more work with quality in less time.
