Question

I agree with second group of doctors that say gene replacement technique can cause uncontrolled outcomes causing more harm. This is because "gene therapy" which is a experimental technique use to treat the treat or prevent the disease by replacing defective gene with corrected gene. The gene therapy was used to treat people with ADA (adenosine deaminase deficiency). In this case, faulty gene associated with ADA expression get replaced with normal or healthy gene. But at the same time , this gene therpay bring some severe side-effects as genes injected with virus trigger a immune response against virus and cause various side-effects to the person. Therefore, gene therapy or other similar technologies have some advantages but at the same time bring some disadvantage.
