What is the relationship between teaching/learning process and the Bloom's taxonomy?
Bloom’s Taxonomy represents a categorization of various skills and learning objectives that teachers and educators establish for their learners. This taxonomy contains learning at six different levels – remembering (identifying and recalling learned information), understanding the meaning of those facts, application of rules and ideas, analysis by breaking the information into various elements, evaluation of the ideas and creation of a new whole by uniting the elements. However, it is not necessary to always begin from the lowermost level and then move up through the whole classification for every new concept that is presented to the children in the classroom. Instead, it is decided by the education by considering the learners’ level of knowledge. Thus, this taxonomy has a very strong and positive relationship with learning processes as each of the six levels demonstrate a process that promotes the positive acquisition of information.
