There are many social factors which have detrimental effect on mental health.The main risk factors are individual demographic and socio economic factors or neighborhood characteristics.

many studies have found that the major risk area of mental disease which includes sex of the patient,age of the person especially young age,low socioeconomic status,low economic stability,less job statisfaction,food scarcity,child hood accident,feeling helpless,negative life memories,lack of emotional support from society and family,loneliness are affecting mental health.but,the association with these social factors and mental illness is still unexplained.

it is found that female age below 55 has a chance to get mental illness if she is a widower with no job satisfaction and less economic stability is east to get worse psychological health than others.study says that English or French speakers are less prone to anxiety disorders or any other disease without the use of drugs.
