Do you think people tailor their behavior to suit those in power more than they admit? Is that something you do?
I think it is the general human tendency of people to incline towards the ones in power so that the people who support such other persons in power, invariably get to discharge their vested interests as well in a direct or in an indirect manner or simply to be in the powerful men's good books. However, often people’s conscience prevent them from consciously suiting their behavior to those in power so this in turn prevents them from admitting to the same in a conscious manner. But it is their showcased gestures that speaks about their tendency irrespective to their admission of the fact.
If that it was something that I do, I would say, I at least try consciously not to and be as much genuine as possible to myself and to the society. However, there may be instances wherein I somewhere try to coincide my behavior with the ones in power, for example, with that of my Boss, to avoid untoward circumstances at the workplace owing to unnecessarily behaving adversely with my Boss. But if the situation calls for having a spine and oppose something highly wrong or unethical, then I shall prefer not to compromise my values to suit those in power.
