Can you describe some behaviors that could improve your consumer ethics?

Business ethics and Consumer ethics are two core term discussed in the domains of business and marketing. Well, let us first know the meaning of business ethics.

Business ethics is all about the rights and wrongs in the behavior of business in relation with morals and values.

Example : 'Company X' does not hide the huge amount of third party debts from the investers. This is an accounting ethics performed by business.

Consumer ethics is all about looking at rights and wrongs from the consumer's point of view. Consumer ethics is also considered as searching the factors that have correlation with ethical issues and determining the attitudes of consumers towards certain ethical behaviours.

A consumer is said to be ethical if asks the below given questions before he buys the product / service.

1. Whether a portion of profit will be donated to the vulnerable section of the society ?

2. Is the product sustainable ?

3. When I buy this product, can I support a small scale business to establish ?

4. Is the product Eco-friendly including the packing ?

5. Are the labor practices at the product's company fair ?

6. Is there a disclaimer or awareness creation writeup / wriing on the product cover ? ( For products with harmful effects )

7. Is the brand / product performing the Corporate Social Responsibilty fairly ?

8. Is there any harm made to animals or tress for the production of this product ?

As mentioned earlier, a consumer can be told ethical if he asks these questions before the buying decision. Business units can have a keen attention into the above mentioned questions to uplift the satisfation level of consumer ethics. Most improtantly, buying decision is with the consumer / customer. Ethical consumer will give ample importance to the ethicals aspects than the want satisfying power.
